Supercars of Wakey

Supercars of Wakey is a pilot television programme starring Leigh Francis, Katherine Kelly and Neil Maskell and directed by Tony Pitts that explores the highs and lows of a failing supercar showroom in Wakefield, following the personalities behind the business as it fights to survive. Set against a backdrop of luxury cars and everyday monotony, the programme blends mockumentary comedy entertainment with character-led storytelling.

Luckie Creative worked closely alongside the production team to develop the show’s overall look and feel and to design a complete graphics package. Central to the creative approach was a cheeky ’80s-inspired visual identity, drawing on the era’s bold typography, saturated colours, and energetic motion—reimagined through a modern broadcast lens. This retro aesthetic was used to heighten the contrast between aspiration and struggle, echoing the dream of supercar success and 80’s Miami flare against the showroom’s uncertain reality.

Working alongside the set team and printers, we created a full sweep of visual assets, including window graphics, wall decals, printed banners, and windscreen price stickers — each one nodding to the show's comedy and larger-than-life characters. The resulting visual language gives Supercars of Wakey a distinctive personality, helping it stand out within the sit-com entertainment space while supporting the narrative, tone, and pacing of the pilot.
